Message to myself...
Breakfast
Vanilla yogurt w/ wheat germ
1/2 grapefruit
Lunch
3 oz chicken breast
tomato and cucumber salad w/ dill
whole wheat role w/ 1 oz whipped cream cheese
apple
Dinner
grilled snapper
roasted asparagus w/ shaved Parmesan
1 cup brown rice
1/2 c vanilla ice cream w/ fresh raspberry sauce
Snack
2 rice cake
1 tbsp Cashew butter
Same old, same old - a good food plan adopted from Weight Watchers. I've given myself this kind of memo before, perhaps 50 times. Reading between the lines it says, "dieting today!"
Just as many times as I've made this prescription, I've gone ahead and not followed it.
Oh, I can do it for a couple of days, even a week sometimes. But sooner or later I give in to my bad eating habits, which pop up and take over.
It's senseless for me to keep up this charade, keep writing out my daily menu, never losing the weight. I finally figured out that my daily message to myself needs to change.
My best bet is to start simply, like this:
Monday morning
Message to myself...
When I start to feel like eating off my weight-loss diet, I'll ask myself
WHY? WHAT'S HAPPENING?
