When you are trying to stick to a weight-loss program, there are three high-risk situations you need to be looking out for.
- Interpersonal conflict
- Social influence
- Moods or emotional states
These are situations that threaten to knock you out of your dieting game. They are situations that you may have previously coped with through overeating.
In order for your weight-loss commitment to remain strong, you must be prepared beforehand for each one of these situations. You need to make a plan, one that can go into immediate effect as soon as you identify the high-risk situation. This will be a plan that includes coping skills for each contingency. It is your stick-to-it plan. (Don't leave home without it.)
