Failure is an integral part of trying to lose weight. You can’t get started. You can’t stick to a diet. You can’t keep lost weight off. There are not only big failures, there are little failures here and there, slips and mistakes every day or certainly every week.
How do you deal with failure? Do you get down on yourself? Feel guilty? Ashamed? Defeated? Sad? Angry? Does failing make you give up and quit? Or do you get up, dust yourself off, and start all over again?
How resilient are you when confronted with failure? How resilient will you be? As you can tell, you will be facing the possibility of all kinds of failures, large and small; and you will have to be ready for them, ready and able. So what’s your failure resilience quotient? Is it high enough to get you through the rough ride? If not, you better prepare yourself. After all, weight loss ain’t easy.
