What can you do when being tempted or being distracted disrupts your dieting motivation and threatens to knock you off your diet?
Psychological research has shown that having just one plan on hand for such occasions can help you stay on course. Having a plan on hand means talking it out with yourself beforehand: "I'll do such and such if I'm tempted or distracted." You certainly could also rehearse such a plan. The rehearsal can take place mentally, or you set up situations for yourself and practice that way. Then, too, you could have more than one plan at the ready.
Keeping to a regimen is hard for all of us. Why not make it as easy as possible to keep your dieting motivation flowing. Keep a plan (or plans) with you at all times.
