Do you have to resist what is so tempting? Or can you avoid what tempts you?
What’s the difference?
If you have to tackle what tempts you each time you are tempted, you are in the position of having to resist being tempted.
On the other hand, if you have established effective habits and routines to keep your dieting going, than it is more likely that you will avoid temptation.
Do you get a choice? Of course you do. But one way is a lot harder initially than the other. It’s a lot harder to develop habits and routines that will help you avoid temptation than it is to leave it until you have to resist what tempts you. But once you get those habits and routines in place to keep your dieting on track, you will be avoiding temptation rather than having to deal with resisting it. And then it will be a whole lot easier.
